“Babe! Where’s the salt?”
“I had to borrow our personal salt cellar for photographs!” I told my husband in a pinch. Fast forward 3 days, and it’s back in its happy spot. Just a reminder that having a designated place for everything—yes, even our salt—makes life… or your husband… a little less salty 😉
In our household—home to two self-employed artists—we're always looking for ways to simplify and streamline our daily lives so we can focus more on the things we love. In the kitchen, that’s meant setting up an easy-access zone for essentials like salt, butter, oil, and our trusty “chameleon dish,” (I’ll spare you the full inventory list!).
We're constantly asking ourselves: How can we do this with less time and more value?
With the arrival of warmer weather, one of the most effective changes I’ve made recently has been putting most of the kids’ toys into storage. The results have been better than expected:
1. The kids are spending nearly every waking moment outdoors.
2. The mess inside the house has been dramatically reduced.
3. Their boredom has sparked creativity—they're learning to entertain themselves and flex their imaginations.
Honestly, I couldn’t recommend it more.
