Join the owner of White Hearth Pottery, Talia Olmstead, for an afternoon workshop with the focus on building beautiful, functional items out of clay.
This is an opportunity for you to pull away from your everyday flow of busy life and become acquainted with new friends while using your hands to transform something from the ground into something you will love and use every day.
Arrive at the historic summer home of the Dupont family, out in the beautiful countryside of Northern Virginia, and you will be welcomed with homemade apple cider donuts and something warm to drink. There will be a lineup of tables on the front veranda overlooking open fields and a horse race track in the distance; here you will find your seat and a gift put together especially for you by your host.
The majority of the workshop will be spent hand-building four different projects that have been planned out in advance. In addition, you along with the other attendees will be individually pulled aside for a wheel throwing session where you will be guided with making the fifth and final project. (You will not be going home with the items that you create right away, as they will need to dry and be fired which will take up to 2 weeks. The items you create will be shipped to your door after they are complete.)
When: Saturday, November 4th, 2017, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Where: Boyce, VA on the front veranda of an old historic home (weather permitting)
Included: Light refreshments, lesson in hand-building with clay, and a wheel throwing session
What you will be coming away with: A thoughtful box put together by your hostess and FIVE ITEMS, made by you, that you will be able to proudly display and use in your home (these will be shipped to you 2 weeks following the workshop)
